Volvo Construction Equipment in Eskilstuna is strengthening our methods organization to meet today’s manufacturing needs and tomorrow’s digital service and maintenance landscape. About the role
Our operating model is evolving, and so are the needs of competence for method engineering. The role is moving from mainly operative, mechanic-focused work toward a broader profile: mechanic/electronic/data analytics competence, agile ways of working, and a stronger focus on future business critical capability building (including AI, predictive maintenance and VR/AR). You will support both “transform and perform” by improving current deliveries while building capability for future projects.
What you will do
• Lead development and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods within your area, acting as a specialist and go-to support.
• Participate early in product introductions, changes and feasibility studies to ensure manufacturability and robust methods.
• Drive rationalizations and improvements, sharing best practices across the methods area and supporting operational excellence.
• Ensure method and process standards are met and maintained; contribute to quality development work and structured feedback loops.
• Lead or contribute to projects investigating and implementing solutions that improve safety, quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Support tooling and investment needs, including introducing and phasing out tools and monitoring tool cost development.
• Act as a trainer/coach in your methods area and help develop needed training and competence plans (2–3-year method strategy).
• Collaborate cross-functionally (production, preparation, product development, IT/data) and with global stakeholders to deliver and scale methods.
• Contribute to digitalization initiatives, e.g., identifying the right data points, enabling data collection and analysis, and supporting use cases such as predictive diagnostics and maintenance.
• Help mature ways of working from traditional approaches toward more agile, learning-oriented and digital methods.
Future competence focus (AI, VR/AR & analytics)
You will be part of a competence shift that strengthens method engineering with new digital capabilities. Depending on your background, you may contribute to one or several of the following areas:
• Predictive diagnostics and maintenance: service/production data understanding, analysis, and practical application.
• Digital service platforms and data ecosystems: service data platforms, digital twins, AI-enabled assistants, workshop/production software.
• AR/VR and simulation: supporting service readiness, training, and method verification through immersive tools.

• Strong machine understanding: experience from working physically with machines (e.g., service/maintenance/assembly) is highly valued.

• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

What you will do
As a System Engineer within ICE Controls at Volvo Construction Equipment, you'll be at the forefront of developing the mechatronic powertrain system, focusing primarily on engine control functionality. You’ll play a key role in shaping the power sources of tomorrow, including diesel, alternative fuels, and hybrid technologies. You will be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, including architecture, design, requirement definition, implementation, and testing both in rigs and machines.





Your daily work includes:




• Defining and developing control algorithms for mechatronic systems
• Translating stakeholders into robust control system requirements
• Driving system architecture, design, and requirement specification
• Integrating sensors, actuators, and ECUs into our system architecture
• Managing calibration, diagnostics, and functional safety aspects

Role Summary
As a Compliance & Certification Engineer at Volvo CE, you will play a key role in ensuring our engines comply with national and international regulatory requirements across multiple markets. You will monitor evolving emission standards, plan and participate in engine development projects to ensure certification readiness, and act as the primary interface with regulatory authorities.
Working closely with calibration engineers and the rig testing team, you will ensure that all tests are completed accurately and that data is properly documented for certification purposes. You will also take full ownership of the certification process, preparing and issuing technical statements and documentation to complete certification and type approval processes.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory requirements in your assigned markets.
Serve as the primary interface with regulatory authorities and regional experts for the assigned market.
Plan and participate in engine development projects to ensure certification readiness.
Analyze upcoming product changes and ensure all necessary certification activities are addressed.
Contribute to overall compliance activities, including prototypes, defect reporting, COP, labeling, and related tasks.

About the role
As Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain operations at our Eskilstuna plant, including planning, material control, material handling, logistics development, warehouse management and paint shop. Our Organization

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), a division of Volvo Group, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, haulers, excavators and compact machines. Main activities and responsibilities:

What you will do
As an Experienced Development Engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will play a key role in developing and driving the future of electromobility systems for construction machinery. You will be responsible for the software development of motor drive system and motion control in all the electrified off-road vehicles like Articulated Haulers, Excavators, and Wheel Loaders. With your expertise, you will help shape the future of electrified solutions for all Volvo CE machines.

In order to succeed in your new role we think you have some of the parts below:

MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics or equivalent
Good teamworking and communication skills
Experience in areas like embedded software development, TargetLink, Simulink, programming in C-code, python.
Requirement management
Vehicle or automotive experience, possibly a C-driving license or similar from other industries like trains, aircrafts, ships, robotics etc,
Experience of virtual testing and verification and/or full scale testing in vehicles

Volvo Construction Equipment i Eskilstuna 

På Volvo CE i Eskilstuna tillverkar vi transmissioner (växellådor) och hjulaxlar till Volvos hjullastare, ramstyrda dumprar och lastbilar. Som Volvostegare kommer du att få prova på olika verksamheter hos oss, men största vikten kommer vi att lägga på bearbetning och underhåll (av bearbetningsmaskiner) och du kan även få prova på montering, härdning, mätrum och målning.
